The Archie Bray Foundation for the Ceramic Arts announced Friday it has received a two-year grant, totaling $148,800, from the Windgate Charitable Foundation.
The money will support artist fellowships and studio costs for four long-term residencies, plus scholarships and studio costs for eight summer residencies.
“It’s always been a goal of the Bray to have 10 fellowships for long-term residents,” said Steven Young Lee, the Bray resident artist director. Six private individuals currently fund $5,000 scholarships for long-term residents. Two other individuals fund scholarships, $750 and $800, for two summer residents.
With the help of the Windgate grant, all 10 long-term residents will receive $5,000 fellowships, and eight summer residents will receive a minimum of $700 scholarships.
